A list of AI skills directories and platforms
Where to find AI agent skills in 2026. A current list of skills directories, marketplaces, registries and curated lists for Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, Copilot, OpenClaw and other agents.
Agent skills are folders containing a SKILL.md instruction file and, optionally, scripts, reference materials and other resources. Agents such as Claude Code, Codex, Cursor and GitHub Copilot load them when needed. Skills are published in many places. Some are searchable indexes with rankings and security scans, some are registries with their own CLI, and some are curated lists on GitHub.
This is a list of AI skills directories and platforms, with what each one offers, so you can pick the right place to look. This article is current as of 2 November 2026.
Searchable directories and marketplaces
skills.sh
skills.sh is Vercel's directory of agent skills, with leaderboards showing all-time installs and recent trends. You can search for a skill, browse by topic and install it using Vercel's skills CLI, run with npx skills.
It is a useful starting point for seeing which skills people are installing. Its security audits page also brings together assessments from Gen Agent Trust Hub, Socket and Snyk. Treat install counts as a measure of popularity, and audit results as one part of your review before installing.
skill-sets.md
skill-sets.md is our directory of individual skills and skill-sets, built to help you find complementary skills for real tasks and package them into shareable collections. You can search by name or describe what you want to do, browse by topic, and compare related skills. The platform monitors listings to reduce duplication, check publisher information and analyse each skill's full contents, helping you understand what it does, which dependencies it needs and which tools it instructs agents to use.
The MCP server lets agents search and inspect the catalogue: they can search by meaning, find related skills, and examine security findings, reviews and installer reports. Agents can also contribute categorisation and reviews through a guided submission process with validation checks, helping improve the directory for future searches.

Smithery
Smithery offers a searchable skills directory alongside its MCP tools catalogue. You can browse categories such as coding, research, writing and data analysis, or narrow results using its 'Verified' and 'namespace' filters. Listings include descriptions and install counts to help you identify skills worth exploring further.
Claude Plugins (claude-plugins.dev)
claude-plugins.dev is an open-source, community-maintained directory with separate sections for Claude Code plugins and agent skills. The skills section indexes public skills from GitHub and lets you search by name, author or keyword.
Despite the name, its skills directory also serves users of Cursor, OpenCode, Codex and other compatible assistants.
Agensi
Agensi is a marketplace for free and paid agent skills. You can browse by task or category, explore bundles and compare listings from different creators. Agents access skills through Agensi's MCP connection.
Skill pages include security scan results, required services and permissions. These details help you assess what a skill needs before using it; Agensi describes its scanning as a best-effort check rather than a guarantee.
SkillsMP
SkillsMP is a searchable catalogue of public agent skills, including SKILL.md files collected from GitHub. You can search by task, skill or source, browse by field or occupation, and explore collections from individual creators.
LobeHub
LobeHub has a community skills marketplace within its broader agent platform. It provides a place to discover, install and share reusable skills, making it a relevant option for readers already using LobeHub.
Registries with their own CLI
ClawHub
ClawHub is the public registry of skills and plugins for OpenClaw agents, run by the OpenClaw Foundation, with its source at github.com/openclaw/clawhub. You can browse by Featured, Trending, Official, New or category, see downloads and stars, and import from GitHub. Its CLI (npm i -g clawhub) can search, inspect, install and publish skills. The project describes versioned, moderated releases and a security analysis that checks a skill's declarations against its behaviour.
Tessl Registry
The Tessl Registry, from Tessl AI Ltd, lists skills with evaluation and security results. Listings show a quality score for adherence to best practices, an impact score based on evaluation scenarios, and security scan results. Skills install with the Tessl CLI, for example npx tessl i github:anthropics/skills --skill docx.
Official catalogues from AI providers
Anthropic: the skills repository and Claude Code plugin marketplaces
anthropics/skills is Anthropic's public repository of example and document skills (docx, pdf, pptx, xlsx), with a template and the specification. Many of its skills are Apache 2.0. The document skills are source-available rather than open source. In Claude Code, add the repository as a marketplace with /plugin marketplace add anthropics/skills, then install the plugin containing the skills you want.
Claude Code also ships with Anthropic's plugin marketplaces. Plugins can bundle skills alongside agents, hooks and MCP servers. The official marketplace is added automatically, and a community marketplace holds plugins that third-party authors submitted to Anthropic. A web catalogue at claude.com/marketplace shows install counts and marks some plugins as Anthropic verified. Anthropic's docs note that it does not review third-party marketplaces.
OpenAI: Codex skills and plugins
OpenAI's openai/plugins repository contains curated Codex plugin examples, which can include skills alongside other components. The older openai/skills repository is deprecated and directs readers there.
GitHub: awesome-copilot
github/awesome-copilot, with a browsable site at awesome-copilot.github.com, is GitHub's community library of Copilot customisations: agents, instructions, skills, hooks and plugins, sourced from third-party developers. GitHub's Copilot docs point to it and to anthropics/skills.
Cursor Marketplace
The Cursor Marketplace lists plugins that can bundle skills, MCP servers, rules and other agent customisations. You can browse publicly or search and install plugins inside Cursor. Cursor also supports team marketplaces for sharing skills internally.
About the format
agentskills.io is the home of the open Agent Skills format, which Anthropic first developed and released as an open standard. It has the specification, a quickstart and a showcase of compatible agents.
Curated lists on GitHub
- ComposioHQ/awesome-claude-skills: a categorised collection of Claude skills and plugins maintained by Composio. Contributions are by pull request.
- VoltAgent/awesome-agent-skills: a cross-agent list that names Claude Code, Codex, Antigravity, Gemini CLI, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, OpenCode and Windsurf, and favours skills from vendor and engineering teams. It describes itself as "a curated collection of 1000+ agent skills".
- travisvn/awesome-claude-skills: a list of official and community Claude skills with guides, a security section and an FAQ. It reminds readers that skills can execute code.
Choosing where to look
| You want to | Try |
|---|---|
| See what is popular across agents | skills.sh, skill-sets.md |
| Compare security audits before installing | skills.sh, skill-sets.md, Tessl |
| Install a group of skills as one pinned set | skill-sets.md |
| Let an agent search for you over MCP | skill-sets.md, Agensi |
| Find OpenClaw skills | ClawHub |
| Browse provider-maintained catalogues | anthropics/skills, Claude Code marketplaces, openai/plugins, awesome-copilot, Cursor Marketplace |
| Browse curated recommendations | the curated lists |
Before installing, review a skill's instructions and any bundled scripts, dependencies and requested access. Rankings indicate popularity, and security scans can flag potential problems. Neither guarantees that a skill is safe or suitable for your project.
